Frank Notorious GalarzaJunior middleweight Frank Galarza (17-0-2, 11KOs) was able to impress in front of his hometown crowd of Brooklyn, New York at the Aviator Sports Complex in the ShoBOX main event on ShowTime tonight. He faced off against the previously once defeated Sheldon Moore (13-2-1) of Belgium. This was a chance for Galarza to showcase his skills in front of very supportive crowd looking to see a show from their fighter, and he delivered.

Galarza started off ordinary enough, he was effective and establishing his game plan, but he was far too defensive minded to do any real damage. The first round was more about Galarza setting the tone and gaining Moore’s respect. He boxed at times and then would quickly fire off some shots, but more to get loose and less to actually make Moore feel his power.

As the fight progressed, Galarza began to press a little more, but Moore wasn’t backing down and they were content to fight in the middle of the ring. This proved to be a mistake for Moore, who traded with Galarza and then got caught with a check hook that sent him backwards on wobbly legs. Galarza had gotten caught at the time of the left hook, in fact both fighters seemed to land simultaneously, but Galarza’s punch was the one that counted. Galarza immeditley capitalized on his hurt opponent, smelling blood in the air.

Galarza then threw a 2-1 combo to the head that set up the final body shot that sent Moore down for the count.

Galarza officially scored a 3rd round knockdown as he continues his climb to a title shot.
