London (25 February) Gevorg Khatchikian believes he is the only winner when he faces James DeGale MBE for the WBC Silver super middleweight title at the City Academy, Bristol, on March 1st, live on Channel 5.

The Netherlands based, undefeated, Khatchikian is ready to do his talking in the ring and feels DeGale is “lacking the toughness required” for professional boxing.

“I’m not a big talker, I really only want to do my talking when in the ring,” Khatchikian said.

“I am looking forward to a nice fight, in which there will be only one winner and that’s me!”

Katchikian boasts an impressive 20-0 record and is the number one ranked fighter in the Netherlands.

A former IBO Youth champion, Gevorg is unimpressed by the amateur pedigree of 2008 Beijing Olympic Gold medallist, DeGale, and firmly believes he will be victorious when they meet in the ring.

“He can box well, but he is lacking the toughness required for professional boxing,” Khatchikian said.

“I know James DeGale since 2008, when he was gifted his Olympic Gold medal with one of the worst decisions in boxing history.”

Khatchikian meets WBC Silver champion and former British and European champion DeGale ahead of James’ WBC sanctioned final eliminator against Mayweather promoted Badou Jack.

Also scheduled to fight on the March 1st show is Bristol’s own British bantamweight champion Lee Haskins and a whole host of talent, including local Bristol fighters Lee Nutland, Ashley Lane, Dan Sarkozi and Weston Super-Mare’s Liam Hunt in his professional debut.
