Gennady Golovkin will continue his rise to stardom and his level of competition will continue to remain within the top fifteen of the middleweight division, as he is set to take on Miguel Cotto’s mandatory Marco Antonio Rubio on October 18th on HBO. Marco Antonio Rubio reported the news of the fight on his Twitter account recently.
Golovkin last fought in July with a third round annihilation of Daniel Geale. Rubio won via 10th round KO over Domenico Spada in April.
