A majority of the boxing community was dumbfounded when the Paul brothers started boxing. We looked at it as if it was a joke. In the end, it turned out the joke was on us.

Jake Paul was successful in knocking out Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson-Roy Jones Jr. and the amount of exposure he got being on that card was unprecedented. Since then Paul has called out a number of people excluding boxers and announced last week that his return to the ring was confirmed and an opponent would be named soon.

Earlier this morning that opponent was announced. Facing Paul will be none other than Ben Askren. Askren was last seen in the world of combat sports getting his soup snatched in record time by Jorge Masvidal in the UFC. That record for being stopped is something that Paul has declared he will best.

“It’s official,” stated Paul. “Representing the UFC Mr. Napoleon Dynamite look-alike Ben Askren finally accepted the fight. He is a two-time NCAA champion, a world champion in two different global mixed martial arts organizations and has less losses on his record than Conor Mcgregor, yet, I’m still going to knock him out faster than Masvidal
did… Some MMA guys think because they throw punches they know how to box. I shocked the world when I knockout an NBA superstar athlete, but some people still complained that
he’s not a real fighter… So now I’m giving the people what they want by taking on a real fighter… After I add Ben to my knockout meme collection, what can anybody say? April 17th. 82
days. The countdown starts now. Be ready.”
