Seems like negotiations for Wladimir Klitschko’s next bout are moving along well and his likely opponent is American Bryant Jennings. According to Dan Rafael of ESPN, the bout would take place on April 25th of next year in New York. Whether the bout will be in Madison Square Garden or Barclays Center remains to be seen.

The bout will be Klitschko’s second of his 3 fight HBO deal. According to Rafael who spoke with Klitschko’s manager, if the fight is not finalized, Klitschko will not fight Tyson Fury who is his WBO mandatory. Instead Klitschko will move on to a different opponent in Germany.

HBO is ponying up 3 million dollars for the Klitschko-Jennings fight if it were to happen. According to the report it is a major pay cut from what the German television networks RTV pays Klitschko.

For years now Klitschko has wanted to fight in the United States but has not found a suitable opponent. Jennings has been built on HBO even fighting twice this year inside the big room at Madison Square Garden and inside the smaller Theatre but was the co-feature not the main event.
