Kovalev coming off the best win of his career against Bernard Hopkins, enters the promotional build up fully confidant to have the mental fortitude to weather the pro Pascal aficionados, and deliver another prodigious performance.

Kovalev stated, “The ring is the same everywhere. I plan to show who I am to the Canadian boxing fans, and to do the things they like to see in the ring.” Kovalev will undoubtedly enter the ring as the favorite, but understands he cannot overlook the former world champion.

Kovalev doesn’t take any opponent for granted because of the difficult journey he had to undergo. Kovalev had to remain robust to endure the arduous political endeavors in the first half of his professional career. There once was a time when Kovalev was financially unstable, and that alone put his boxing career in jeopardy. Fortunately Kathy Duva found her diamond in the rough, and ameliorated Kovalev’s circumstances, and now he can afford to take vacations in Russia with his wife and infant son, and come back to defend his championship titles.

Kovalev promises to deliver excitement in his return to the ring, and Duva promises there will be an electric atmosphere in the Bell Centre, in Quebec Canada. The bout is scheduled for March 14, and will be showcased on the HBO network.
