Last Saturday Oscar Valdez had the greatest performance of his career when he took on and knocked out Miguel Berchelt. After that victory, the 130-pound division opened wide for Valdez and there are plenty of exciting fights that could be made.
The easiest fight that could likely be made is Shakur Stevenson since both fighters fight for Top Rank.
Another name that’s being thrown around is Gervonta “Tank” Davis. It would in fact be a fun fight but there are those out there that say it’s more of an even fight than Davis had vs Leo Santa Cruz.
Leonard Ellerbe believes it’s the same thing since Valdez started at 126 pounds whereas Santa Cruz debuted under 120.
“Lol hold up,” stated Ellerbe on Twitter. “Leo is far more accomplished than Valdez but he was too small right? Valdez comes from 26 but he’s not too small? Which narrative is it? Can’t have it both ways, by the way Tank would knock him the fuck out! 100%.”
How does Tank feel about the fight? He feels he puts Valdez to bed.
