LUCIAN-BUTELucian Bute (31-2, 24 Kos) was set to return to the ring on Dec. 6 against Roberto Bolonti at the Bell Centre in Montreal, but a back injury has forced him to withdraw from the light heavyweight bout. This was supposed to be Bute’s comeback fight after losing a unanimous decision against Jean Pascal in January earlier this year.

Bute has only fought six times in the past four years, with a record of 4-2. His recent partnership with Freddie Roach was supposed to be a step forward in reinvigorating his career. He was currently in the Philippines training with Roach, until he announced he would no longer be on the Dec. 6th card. There have been no details of how long his injury will keep him outside the ring, but more information should be revealed as the week goes by.

Despite Bute being originally scheduled to be the main event, the card will proceed as planned. According to ESPN’s Dan Rafael, Jean Pascal vs. Don George the former co-main event, will now be promoted as the main event. Pascal being from Quebec Canada, should still have enough star power in Montreal to gather plenty of fight fans into the arena.
