On Thursday night promoter Paco Damien via his twitter account (@PacoPresentsBox) announced a return to the bay area on August 22nd. Paco Presents Boxing/Don Chargin Promotions will return to Fairfield, CA at the Alan Witt Park Sports Center headlined by Fairfield’s Manuel “Tino”Avila (15-0 6KOs). Avila was tested in February against Enrique Quevedo in a grueling affair that saw Avila drop Quevedo in the 10th and final round of the fight. Avila then bounced back with a decisive 3rd TKO of David de la Mora in Del Mar, CA in May.

For Avila, this will be his first time fighting in his hometown after beating down Ricky Lopez in the holiday season of 2012. Avila, who was despondent after his Quevedo fight explained afterwards “…I learned that I have to listen my trainer. I didn’t listen to him after this fight and well, I shouldn’t have done that.”After the last result, Avila will look to hone on what got him there in the first place.

Also on the card will be Sacramento’s Guy Robb (12-1 5KOs). Robb is returning after a bout under the Paco Presents Boxing/ Don Chargin Promotions banner in April in which he earned a unanimous decision over Daniel Ramirez, an unbeaten fighter. Robb, who explained to ThaBoxingVoice.com recently that he is now a free agent is looking to make a strong showing to potential suitors who may court the fan friendly fight. Robb, who is best known for his war against Joel Diaz Jr. is looking to make waves beyond just that fight of the year contender in 2012 as he is capturing the attention of the nation getting a shout out on Showtime PPV recently for working with Abner Mares.

Andy Vences (8-0 4KOs) will also be featured on the card. Vences, who is looking to get signed by a major promoter by the end of the year recently switched coaches in hopes of fulfilling that goal as he left Brian Schwartz of Undisputed Boxing Gym and now is with Gabe Flores Sr. of Los Gallos Boxing Gym. The change seemed beneficial for Vences in his last fight as he punished Adolfo Landros into a 2nd round knockout using both hands to break Landros’will. For Vences, whose nickname El Tiburon translated into english means the shark is hoping to swim into deeper waters by the end of the year.

It has yet to be confirmed whether the card will be a Fox Sports 1 “Golden Boy Live!”card or not though it is important to remember that Avila is a Golden Boy fighter, which makes it more likely that the card will be televised. Tickets will be available soon on PacoPresentsBoxing.com
