Tonight Mauricio Herrera has the biggest fight of his career when he takes on Danny Garcia in Puerto Rico for Garcia’s 140 pound titles but many are seeing it as a tune-up fight for Garcia and according to Herrera, Golden Boy Promotions and the Garcia’s probably think the same as well.
“In some parts. Golden Boy, they’re probably thinking ‘he’s not going to win but he is going to give them a good fight,” said Herrera. “We are not training to think that they are thinking that I don’t know what they’ve been thinking or the way they’ve been acting that they think it is going to be a guaranteed win.”
Recently Danny Garcia has began to act cocky and trash talk Herrera which is something that he has not done in the past but has been more the role of his father Angel. Herrera claims that Garcia’s actions has shown him something and that their attempts to get under his skin have failed.
“I’ve seen other things too. I’ve seen Danny, he’s been confronting me more, talking at the press conferences. He has never done that to anyone before so that tells me a lot right there what he is going to do in the ring. They don’t know anything about me. They don’t know what I can do.”
