IMG_2341-e1431434062425A lot of listeners, readers, and TBV followers have been thanking us for all of the content we were able to get during Mayweather-Pacquiao fight week. Even though roughly 70% of our staff were in Las Vegas for fight week, we managed to keep Thaboxingvoice site and social media outlets updated with everything revolving Mayweather-Pacquiao throughout the week, along with some footage that painted the overall atmosphere of Vegas throughout the week.

Thaboxingvoice.com was able to keep a strong presence at press conferences for the mega fight, along with other smaller shows happening in Vegas, and it wasn’t easy with the promotion being spread out all over town.

We at Thaboxingvoice were fortunate enough to have a sponsor in Mazda, who provided us with a 2016 Mazda CX-5. This partnership was the foundation for our ability to get content for more reasons than one, and we would like to thank them by giving an account of their incredible product.

First, a personal vehicle in a city like Vegas on the week of a promotion like Mayweather-Pacquiao is beneficial enough on its own. The fact that TBV was able to focus on other aspects without the strenuous chore of figuring out travel arrangements throughout the week was extremely helpful and that alone would’ve been enough. However, the Mazda CX-5 went above and beyond the luxury of basic conveyance.FullSizeRender-26

The experience of driving this vehicle was more overwhelming than could be imagined.

Of course, we were able to get writers and videographers to their different assignments in various locations. With writers like Steven Calderon and Victor Salazar arriving at different times and on different days, the Mazda CX-5 was able to keep a running count of various locations throughout Vegas. There was no need to reprogram destinations because the ability to switch from Bluetooth to Auxiliary connection was seamless.

The Bluetooth was flawless in-vehicle, but what set it apart from anything else was the voice recognition software inside the vehicle, which is better designed than almost anything else on the market. And I’m not just comparing it to other vehicles. The voice recognition software holds its own against other products, including the i-Phone 6.

I could speak about the comfort of the vehicle and the smooth drive, but a lot of cars are smooth, although the CX-5 belongs at the top of that list and its incredible steering capabilities and leather interior earn such high regards. The ride was just as smooth at 25MPH as it was approaching speeds of 65MPH+.

What separates the CX-5 from “just another comfortable ride” is its impressive gas mileage. In a week filled with multiple destinations located across town from one another, the Mazda CX-5 only needed one gas fill up. I have to admit that an accurate accounting of the miles traveled in the CX-5 would’ve been smart and useful, but then I also would have to admit that I never imagined a vehicle was capable of this kind of mileage. The fact that I can’t directly account for the mileage is a testament to the CX-5’s incredible ability to add up the miles without worrying about fuel.

FullSizeRender-25During a very busy week in Vegas, I found the rearview camera extremely useful. But it was the sensors in the actual rearview mirrors that turned out to be the biggest surprise and most useful tool of all. It is something that I got so used to that I now find it disappointing to be without when traveling in other vehicles.

The safety of its LCD Touch Screen and the upgraded center console made it possible to function in the car without losing any driver awareness. It was awesome to schedule meetings, interviews, direct writers/videographers and keep my GPS and music to my satisfaction without raising the danger level for other drivers around me.

All and all, we want to thank Mazda for sponsoring us with a vehicle. But more importantly, we want to commend them on an incredible vehicle capable of raising the bar on the normal functions of an automobile, while creating an extremely advanced piece of technology that has left many other car manufacturers far behind.

If you are in the market for a new car I can tell you that the 2016 Mazda CX-5 has redefined the word “new” in its entirety. Furthermore, you will want to test drive one so you can see what driving will be like in the next 5-8 years when other manufacturers catch up to Mazda’s innovations.

Thank you to #DriveMazda @DriveSTI @MazdaUSA. For giving us this great vehicle for #MayweatherPacquiao weekend.
