NABF lightweight title on the line for Fontanez-Quintero

Jeffrey FontanezThe September 18 special edition of LA FIGHT CLUB at the Belasco Theater will be a celebration of Mexican Independence Day and feature an action-packed night of fights leading with a classic Mexico vs. Puerto Rico rivalry when Jeffery Fontanez (16-1, 12 KOs) of Caguas, Puerto Rico will fight for the vacant NABF Lightweight Title against Tijuana, Mexico’s Marvin “Cachorro” Quintero (27-6, 23 KOs) as the main event.

Continuing the Mexico vs. Puerto Rico rivalry trend, newly signed Golden Boy Promotions fighter, Carlos “The Solution” Morales (11-1-3, 5 KOs), of Los Angeles, will face Puerto Rican rising star O’Nell Negron (11-1-2, 87 KOs) of Vega Baja, in an eight-round super featherweight bout.

Opening up the Boxeo Estelar on Estrella TV, Los Angeles’ Oscar “El Jaguar” Negrete (11-0, 3 KOs) will be featured in an eight-round brawl against Jose Estrella (14-7-1, 10 KOs) of Tijuana, Mexico, just in time to continue the week’s Mexican Independence Day celebrations. The night’s exciting matchups will be televised live nationally on Estrella TV at 10:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT, and the undercard is set to be live streamed via The RingTV’s Roku channel, on www.ringtvlive.comand on The Ring TV’s YouTube channel starting at 8:30 p.m. ET/ 5:30 p.m. PT.

For The Ring TV’s live stream portion of the night, newcomer Hector “El Finito” Tanajara (1-0, 1 KO) of San Antonio, Texas will take on Carlos Gonzalez (1-7) of Bell, Calif. in a four-round lightweight bout while Los Angeles undefeated prospect, Emilio Sanchez (9-0, 6 KOs) is scheduled to fight Juan Sandoval (7-16-1, 4 KO’s) of San Bernardino, Calif. in a six-round super bantamweight fight.

Additionally, Francisco Esparza of Las Vegas will make his professional debut against a yet-to-be-named opponent in a four-round lightweight bout and opening up the special edition of LA FIGHT CLUB on Sept. 18, burgeoning young knockout artist Alejandro “Popo” Salinas (3-0, 3 KOs) of Youngstown, Ohio will take on a yet-to-be-named opponent in a six-round lightweight bout.
