In most instances where there is smoke there is sure to be fire. When it comes to boxing there are several that talk shit online or in front of a camera but when it really comes down to fighting there is dead silence.
John Riel Casimero emerged victorious over Guillermo Rigondeaux ten days ago. After the lackluster performance Casimero stated he wanted to fight Naoya Inoue and Nonito Donaire.
The fight with Inoue seems to be the least likely to happen as rival promoters seldom work with each other in this era of boxing. The Donaire fight is the most likely to be made as both have been fighting on PBC cards. The only issue right now is Casimero and his team have not reached out to Richard Schaefer who promotes Donaire.
“Contrary to what is being presented on social media, all the antics and TALK, Casimero and Sean Gibbons have YET to contact our promoter, Richard Schaefer, about wanting to fight, despite their call out on Aug 14,” stated Donaire via social media. “We are currently weighing all REAL options and will not entertain social media wars when it is apparent it was just talk.”
Social media has for sure played a big part in the build up for a fight between Casimero and Donaire but eventually the talk needs to develop into something otherwise smoke is just being blown up everyone’s ass.
