What Will This Weekend’s Fight Between Paul-Woodley Tell Us?

The time for another Jake Paul fight is closing in and things seem to be a bit on the quiet side. It’s weird or maybe I am not paying enough attention to it but out of every time Paul has fought I have had no interest. This time it’s different.

What is different for me this time around is the quality of opponent Paul will step into the ring with. Despite losing numerous fights in recent history for Woodley he stands the best chance out of everyone Paul has faced to date. Woodley can punch and even though MMA punches are different he can adapt (or so you hope). His dedication to preparing for a fight is legit and putting in some work with former pound for pound king will definitely pay off.

For Paul it’s good to see he is stepping up his level of competition (as much as I criticize him for what he does in boxing). Many of us exclaimed that we wanted to see Paul in against real fighters but we weren’t specific…we should have said legitimate boxers. For all we know he could be building up his confidence in the ring until he is ready to actually step up.

What will we learn from this weekend’s fight though?

For starters we will learn if Woodley is completely done as a fighter or not. Will he be able to compete in boxing after so many years fighting in MMA? If he beats Paul then we can pretty much guarantee a rematch will happen and both will make a shit ton of money. If Paul wins it goes to show they he is taking his training seriously and that against non-boxers he can do whatever he wants no matter how much it may upset some of us. Should Paul win it will be interesting in seeing where he goes from here as a potential showdown with Tommy Fury may be next on the agenda.

This time around it does not seem like a huge circus show and there seems to be more of a seriousness around for this fight card (which is definitely positive). We still have five days to go and anything can happen between now and then. Will we get more questions or answers this time around on what the future holds in store for the boxing YouTubers. Will the show go on or will it come to a screeching halt?
