untitledBOUCHERVILLE – THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 11TH – InterBox and Lucian Bute (31-2-0 24 K.O.) are proud to announce that the Romania native will continue his career and his training under trainer of the year Freddie Roach and his team.

A few weeks ago, while Lucian was visiting California, the famous trainer got to see him in action. Impressed by what he saw, and being confident in Bute’s abilities, the alliance between Freddie Roach and the Laval resident naturally came to fruition.

” It’s an honor for me to benefit from the advices of a renown trainer. I have the intention to give everything I have to come back strong in the ring for my fans and the boxing supporters. ” – Lucian Bute

For InterBox president, Jean Bédard, Bute’s arrival on the team of Freddie Roach represents a new step “Knowing that after a few months of research, the answers were positives for Lucian, and with all the talent that we know he has, Roach seems like the man of the situation. I am more than enthusiast when I look at his future. He still has excellent years in front of him and it’s the occasion for him to take a new burst.”

A stay in the Philippines

More determined than ever, Lucian Bute will join Manny Pacquiao’s training camp in the Philippines. This training camp is held for Manny Pacquiao’s November 22th bout vs Chris Algieri in China. The goal is to continue working on his technique and also continuing his own preparation for his return scheduled in the next few months.

Coming back in the ring

Mark Saturday December 6th 2014 on your calendar. That’s the date on which Bute will make his return in the ring at the Bell Centre. The details concerning this gala will be known soon.

Freddie Roach: An impressive career

Freddie Roach, a member of the World Boxing Hall of Fame since 2006 and of the International Boxing Hall of Fame since 2012, was named the Trainer of the year by the Boxing Writers Association of America on 6 occasions (2003, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2013). After his career as a boxer, in which he finished with a 40-13-0 13 K.O. record, Roach made the jump on the other side of the ring by becoming Eddie Futch’s assistant. He became a trainer in 1991 after the actor Mickey Rourke asked him. During his career, Roach trained more than 30 boxers and athletes including Oscar De La Hoya (Golden Boy), Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Georges Saint- Pierre. He currently trains Miguel Cotto (39-4-0 32 K.O.), the WBO Welterweight world champion Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2 38 K.O.) – the only boxer in history to be a eight division world champion – and his new addition, Lucian Bute. To this day, Roach produced 27 world champions. He’s also the owner of the Wild Card Gym in West Hollywood, California.
