On the topic of the Amir Khan-Devon Alexander fight, Santa Cruz had this to say, “It was a great fight Amir Khan looked great. Hhe looked better than in his previous fights. He looked amazing, great punches and everything so I think he did very well.”

Santa Cruz was asked to give his assessment on what Khan had improved on from his previous fights and he had this to say, “He took more punches away. He didn’t get hit with clean shots and he was faster than before and he threw a lot more punches this time.

Santa Cruz was next asked his opinion on the performance of Abner Mares. He responded by saying, “Yeah he looked great too. He looked very strong, so that just makes it more interesting for a fight against me. I think we are going to make a war and it’s going to be a great fight. The fans want it and I want it and it will be a great fight and that’s what the fans want.”

A bout between Santa Cruz and Mares has been rumored for sometime and with both fighters being under the Haymon umbrella, it seems easy enough to make in 2015. The fight would be a huge event in Los Angeles, somewhere like the Stub Hub Center.
