Multiple sources from within the Al Haymon camp have confirmed that the 37 year old junior welterweight Paul Spadafora is close to inking a deal with the powerful advisor Haymon. Spadafora is scheduled to fight Solomon Egberime on December 1st live from the Mountaineer Casino Racetrack and Resort in Chester, West Virginia. This will only be Spadafora’s 2nd fight since November 2010. He is signed to Roy Jones’ promotional company – Square Ring.
Spadafora (46-0-1) has had a checkered past to say the least, although when he was a guest on Thaboxingvoice.com’s twice weekly radio show he assured his fans that those days of substance abuse are behind him. On the show — which his promoter Roy Jones was also a guest of — Spadafora said that he could make several different weights in order to accommodate the bigger opportunities. With Haymon in his corner, that should help accommodate the bigger fights as well.
