On September 28,2013 Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna (12-0 7KO) will return to the ring at Bally’s Event Center at Bally’s Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. LaManna, the hometown kid, is excited to be fighting in the New Jersey resort town after being absent for nearly six months following a hard fought six round decision victory over Joshua Snyder, who has since retired from the sport. “Cornflake” will face off against Joshua Robertson (5-2 1KO) on the card that is being promoted by Bob Arum’s Top Rank and featured Passaic, New Jersey’s own Glen Tapia. LaManna promises that it will be a huge night for him, “its going to be a explosive night, I hope my opponent comes prepared. To me, this fight can change my life and career.”

Although not in his preferred location of Atlantic City, LaManna has a more recent victory under his belt, a second round KO win over Jeremy Yelton (17-14) in North Carolina. This fight took place instead of a June 1st match that would have been in Atlantic City if not for a hand injury LaManna sustained, it was not an easy day for LaManna as he had heard about the death of his cousin, Corbin McHenry who was born with a rare disease called Trisomy 13. He explains “I got a call at 7am on the day I fought and heard the news about my baby cousin passing away after   living 135 perfect days when no body in the world gave him 5 minutes to live. The whole day was rough but I managed to keep my emotions on hold until after the fight. On September 28, I will be wearing baby blue trunks with his picture on the back and will definitely show that there is no quit in anything and all the hard work will be in Corbin’s memory. He had the hardest fight and he is not only our family’s champion, he is my true inspiration. ”

During his lay-off LaManna trained with renowned trainer Buddy McGirt at The McGirt Training Facility, his stunning new gym in Nutley, New Jersey, which he says was a great, enjoyable experience. After learning a few new things from McGirt, LaManna rejoined his original trainer Hassan Hamid-El of Vineland, NJ.   Thomas expresses gratitude to Top Rank, Vincent Ponte, and Gulfstream Promotions for the opportunity to fight on the card which all of his friends and family will be able to attend.
