downloadIt was the knockout heard round the world. Juan Manuel Marquez icing Manny Pacquiao in the 6th round of their 4th encounter almost a 2 years ago now. The two have gone their separate ways with Pacquiao beating Brandon Rios, Chris Algieri, and Timothy Bradley. Marquez lost to Bradley and beat Mike Alvarado since then.

Will we ever see a 5th fight?

WBO President, Francisco Valcarcel would like to see one.

“I haven’t spoken with Marquez but I think a 5th fight with Pacquiao would be interesting,” Valcarcel told ESPN Deportes. “I know Manny wants a 5th fight and if there is no agreement with Mayweather, I know he wants Marquez because there has been no clear winner of the rivalry.”

Pacquiao holds the WBO version of the welterweight title and either fight for Pacquiao would be big business for the WBO but even Valcarcel is sketchy on Mayweather-Pacquiao happening.

“What we know is that Mayweather and Pacquiao are in negotiations and we have no problem making that fight. Pacquiao is our champion at 147 lbs. and he has time to take a voluntary defense or unification. But how feasible really is Mayweather-Pacquiao? All I know is Pacquiao really wants Marquez too.”
