STAR BOXING PRESENTS BATTLE OF THE UNDEFEATED HEAVYWEIGHTS JOE HANKS VS. RICHARD CARMACK

ALBANY, NY (January 3, 2013) On Saturday night, FEBRUARY 2, Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing will return to the Times Union Center in Albany, NY with”Battle Of The Undefeated Heavyweights” featuring a ten round Championship showdown between Newark’s’ Joe “The Future” Hanks and Richard “Silverback” Carmack of Kansas City, Missouri for the vacant NABA Heavyweight Title.

Advance tickets priced at $75, $50, $35 (special: $25 for students with valid ID and $10 for children 12 and under) are on-sale through Ticketmaster, (www.Ticketmaster.com, 800-745-3000) or at the Times Union Center Box Office, (www.timesunioncenter-albany.com), and at all local Wal-Mart Music Centers. Triumphantly returning to the Times Union Center, world ranked contender Hanks of Newark, New Jersey, sports a record of 21-0-0 (14KO’s). In his first appearance at the debut Star Boxing event in Albany on FEBRUARY 4, the 29-year-old Hanks looked dominant in stopping Cuban Rafael Pedro in the second round.

Hanks followed up the knockout of Pedro by halting veteran Marcus Rhode in the first round on APRIL 27 in Miami, Oklahoma. Most recently Hanks won a clear cut unanimous decision over Maurenzo Smith on DECEMBER 6 in Costa Mesa, California.

Hanks is currently ranked #13 by the World Boxing Organization and considered by many in the boxing media as one of the top US based heavyweights.

The 24-year-old Carmack, 12-0-0 (10KO’s), is coming off his career best victory, a devastating first round knockout of perennial contender Carl Davis on NOVEMBER 16 in Chicago, IL. Drilling Davis to the canvas with a battering right cross, Carmack showed world-class power stunning the huge crowd at the UIC Pavilion.

In addition to this sensational heavyweight matchup, Star Boxing will announce an action packed undercard including local fighters; Vincent Miranda and Shawn Miller in separate bouts.

The Times Union Center is location at 51 South Pearl Street in Albany, New York, 12207. Doors will open on the night of the event at 6pm with the first bell at 7:15pm.
