Danny Garcia Adrien BronerAdrien Broner made the boxing internet go a little crazy when he posted a photo on Instagram of him and Danny Garcia. In the photo, Broner was doing the “slit your throat” motion. A fight between Danny Garcia and Adrien Broner would definitely be a big fight on the NBC stage. But to Garcia’s trainer and father, Angel Garcia, it was more of a joke on Broner’s end.

“They did that joking around when they did the photo shoot with NBC,” Garcia told ThaBoxingVoice.com. “They friends, they joke around. It doesn’t matter; it’s all about Peterson right now. I don’t take nothing personal. If it gets physical with my family, then it’s personal. Like right, not Peterson ready to fight Danny, so it’s personal. At the end of the day, they could joke around like that. If it ends up happening, it happens. Like I said before we not running from nobody. We going to worry about Peterson April 11th.”

The question was posed to Garcia if a fight between Danny Garcia and Adrien Broner was pay-per-view worthy. Garcia says it’s up to one person.

“I don’t know it’s up to Al,” Garcia said. “Pay-per-view, you could have anything on pay-per-view and people will buy it. Some people don’t know nothing about boxing, you say Floyd Mayweather, and they know him. If you say you know Danny Garcia, uh no, the kid that fought on Floyd Mayweather undercard, of yeah yeah, him. If it happens it happens, the fans pay the money, if they want it then it happens.”

Broner’s last big fight was against Marcos Maidana where he was dropped a few times and lost the bout. Garcia was asked about how his son would do against both fighters. Garcia said,

“Everybody’s different. Sometimes it’s the fighter and not how the fight went. All it takes is one person to say something and the game is over. I can’t say because I don’t train them. I train Danny to go the distance, to look for openings; I train Danny old school in a modern way.”
