British boxing’s brightest talents will fight live on Sky Sports via the red button for the first time at the Echo Arena in Liverpool next Saturday (March 30) in Betfair’s ‘No Retreat, No Surrender’.
Fight fans can access the action from 7pm on Sky Sports 1HD as Britain’s hottest hopes strut their stuff before the main events come into focus from 9pm.
Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is excited by the innovation from Sky Sports and believes both the fans and the fighters will be the winners as the undercard stars in Merseyside get the chance to shine.
“I’m delighted to be part of this ground-breaking move with Sky Sports,” said Hearn. “Every show we do is packed with action and it’s impossible to broadcast all these great fights within the transmission time. It’s imperative that our young stars get the desired exposure and that the boxing community can watch and be a part of their progression. Boxing fans needn’t leave their sofa from 7pm to midnight next Saturday!”
Tony Bellew tops the bill in his crunch WBC light heavyweight World title eliminator against Isaac Chilemba, with the chief support provided by the fight of the year rematch between Derry Mathews and Anthony Crolla, who clash for the vacant Commonwealth lightweight title.
Rocky Fielding defends his English super middleweight title against Wayne Reed while Olympic captain Thomas Stalker boxes in his hometown for the first time as a pro.
