Muhammad gives his analysis of Golovkin’s rise to stardom,“I think they are giving him opponents that can’t fight,” says Muhammad.  He attacks Golovkin’s last fight against Marco Antonio Rubio in which Golovkin demolished Rubio in two rounds.  Muhammad’s perspective on the fight  “Golovkin made him quit.  As soon as he (Rubio) got hit with a good shot he went down, he could have got up it was pure bull.” Muhammad is obviously unimpressed with Golovkin’s run to fame. When asked, “Once Golovkin faces elite competition does he perform?”  Muhammad immediately responds,“Not against Andre Ward.”  He goes on to say, “Andre Ward (27-0-14 KO) is a bonafide superstar, if it weren’t for Floyd being the number one fighter in the world Andre Ward could step in very easily.”
Muhammad has a great point if it weren’t for inactivity Ward could be a household name like Golovkin is growing to be. With all that being said, it doesn’t take away from his skills in the ring and if these two were to meet, fight fans would be guaranteed a gem of a fight!
