Former European Champion Eduard Gutknecht (24-2, 9 KOs) has a new opponent
to prepare for. Originally, the 31-year-old German was supposed to take on
Travis Dickinson at the Max-Schmeling-Halle in Berlin, Germany. However, the
Brit pulled out of the fight and will now be replaced by Richard Vidal from
Uruguay on June 8. The 37-year-old will be a tough challenge in Gutknecht´s
quest to capture the vacant WBA Intercontinental Light Heavyweight
Championship. “I have been preparing for Dickinson and his strengths,” said
Gutknecht. “But I am aiming to get back to the top. Therefore, I have to
deal with these uncomfortable situations. Vidal is in great shape and has
quite some experience when it comes to title fights. I won’t make the
mistake of underestimating him.”
