WHEN: Wednesday October 16, 1pm
WHERE: Meadowhall Shopping Centre (Lower High Street knuckle, near Sports Direct), Sheffield, S9 1EP
Kell Brook will showcase his skills at the Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield from 1pm on Wednesday (October 16) as he continues his preparations for his Welterweight showdown with Vyacheslav Senchenko on October 26 at the Motorpoint Arena Sheffield live on Sky Sports.
The unbeaten hometown star faces the former WBA World Champion in a crunch clash in the Steel City as he closes in on a World title fight in 2014. Fight fans can see at close hand how Brook looks ahead of this massive fight with the dangerous Ukrainian who returns to England having spoiled Ricky Hatton’s return to the ring last year.
Brook will perform a 30 minute workout with trainer Dominic Ingle followed by an autograph session at the Lower High Street knuckle of the centre, near the Sports Direct store. Sheffield young guns Adam Etches and Scott Jenkins will also perform workouts as the unbeaten duo prepare for their spots on the bill at the Motorpoint Arena.
Brook’s clash with Senchenko is part of a bumper night of action in Sheffield, with Brian Rose taking on Javier Maciel in a final eliminator for the WBO World Light Middleweight title, and there’s a spot on the card for Rose’s fellow Blackpool fighter Scotty Cardle.
Olympic Gold medallist Anthony Joshua MBE will box for the second time as a pro on the card after his debut at The O2 on October 5. Liverpool’s Callum Smith continued his incredible run of first round stoppage wins in Liverpool when he won the vacant English Super Middleweight title and there’s a welcome return to action for Kal Yafai, the exciting 8-0 bantamweight who boxes for the first time since injuring his bicep in his last outing in March.
