John Ryder is searching for a new opponent for the Betfair ‘Christmas Cracker’ on December 8 at the London Olympia after Kreshnik Qato was forced to withdraw from their fight through injury.
The pair were set to battle for Qato’s English middleweight title on the bumper bill in London but Ryder will now face a new opponent on the card, with promoter Eddie Hearn aiming to land the Islington prospect a title shot.
Exciting Canning Town cruiserweight Wadi Camacho fights for his first belt on the show when he faces Toks Owoh for the vacant Southern Area title. Camacho is aiming to end his debut year in style, with the 27 year old 5-0 after turning pro in January, while Newham’s Owoh will hope for better fortune in his second crack at the title after he lost on points to Tony Conquest last November.
Ryder and Camacho’s title shots are part of a huge night of action in the capital, as Gavin Rees meets John Murray in an all-British lightweight blockbuster, former European middleweight champions Darren Barker and Kerry Hope lock horns and powerful welterweights Lee Purdy and Carson Jones face-off in an explosive looking clash.
Tickets for Betfair’s ‘Christmas Cracker’ are on sale now priced £40 unreserved, £60 corner ringside, £80 ringside and £150 VIP. Tickets are available from Matchroom Sport on 01277 359900 and at www.matchroomboxing.com
