As reported by ESPN’s Dan Rafael, Main Events CEO, Kathy Duva wants red hot prospect Artur Beterbiev to return to the ring on the Sergey Kovalev-Jean Pascal undercard against Isaac Chilemba (23-2-2, 10 KOs) at the Bell Centre in Montreal on March 14.
The Russian born Beterbiev now lives in Montreal which makes the fight seem like a perfect fit.
Duva stated that it’s a fight that HBO wants and Chilemba has agreed to the fight. Duva said she is waiting to hear back form Beterbiev’s promoter Yvon Michel to see if they are interested.
Beterbiev is coming off of a second round knockout victory over James Page Jr. on December 19 and has won all seven of his professional bouts by knockout.
The crafty Chilemba could prove to be a good test for the heavy handed Russian.
