SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 27) – Fresh off of an exciting night of boxing at Cowboys Dancehall in early September, the hit FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes series Golden Boy Live! is back in San Antonio on Monday, Nov. 11 with an exciting 10 round main event featuring junior welterweight southpaws Fidel “The Atrisco Kid” Maldonado Jr. and Luis Ramos Jr.

“The boxing fans in San Antonio have a well-deserved reputation as the best in Texas, so it was an easy decision for us to return with our latest edition of Golden Boy Live!,” said Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions. “In our main event, we have two top 140-pound prospects Fidel Maldonado Jr. and Luis Ramos Jr. They’re both hungry to put on a great fight and this is a must-win situation for both of these fighters.”

“Luis is a tough fighter who has fought a lot of quality opponents,” said Maldonado Jr. “But, I think I have the style and power to beat him. I plan on doing just that on November 11.”

“I always had a feeling that Fidel and I were going to meet in the ring one day and that day has arrived,” said Ramos Jr. “He’s a top young fighter like I am and we’re going to put on a great show for the Texas fans.”

Maldonado vs. Ramos, is a10-round junior welterweight bout presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Leija*Battah Promotions and sponsored by Corona and O’Reilly Auto Parts. The pride of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Fidel Maldonado Jr. (16-2, 13 KO’s) is a hard-hitting prospect that always gives the fans an exciting fight. After suffering the only two losses of his professional career in 2012 against Fernando Carcamo and Michael Perez, the 22-year-old roared back, winning three straight, including knockouts over Jorge Romero and Abraham Osuna. Now back in business at 140 pounds, Maldonado Jr. will showcase his talent on the national stage this November.

Twenty-five-year-old Santa Ana, Calif. product Luis Ramos Jr. (23-1, 10 KO’s) quickly rose to the top of the boxing world with wins over Francisco Lorenzo, Ray Beltran and Noe Bolanos, then he suffered his only blemish on his record when a controversial cut caused him to lose to former Olympian Ricardo Williams Jr. in Dec. of 2012. Now fully healed and ready to fight again, Ramos Jr. will look to regain his status at 140 pounds with a big win over Maldonado Jr.
