Mayweather hires a snitch and much more on the May 2nd Wire Report

Three more days till May 5, and it feels like an eternity to me and the boxing fans who can’t wait to see the Ring Kings in action. Today I chose not to write about Miguel Cotto, because I will invest my time in him and his camp tomorrow. Today we start with a question.. Is there a mole helping in Mayweather’s camp? Also where will Manny Pacquiao be Saturday night.. An undercard match on Pacman vs Bradley’s event. Mikkel returns to Denmark. Date change for Spinks vs Bundrage. Del Valle already has a return date, after only a week.. And Larry Merchant vs Floyd Mayweather the Rematch.. Sit back, relax and let yourself go.. Today on the Wire Report..

We have all been led to believe that Floyd Mayweather is helping Yuriorkis Gamboa with his problems with Top Rank Promotions. As a matter of fact Gamboa has become something of a fixture in Mayweather’s Boxing Club. I thought that this was Money’s attempt to secure himself an exciting fighter for his promotion team, at the same time taking a stab at Bob Arum. What if all the speculating is wrong, and the real reason Gamboa is hanging with the Money Team is because he’s an informant. Cuban-born Yuriorkis Gamboa was an amateur phenom winning a gold for his home country in the 2004 Olympics. According to Floyd, Gamboa has experience with Miguel Cotto’s coach, Pedro Diaz who ran the Cuban amateur team for 20 years. It is said that every Diaz fighter that fought Gamboa has been defeated. The hype to this fight is only getting better and better.

Manny Pacquiao and Freddie Roach are set to arrive in the U.S. Saturday night at 8:05 pm from the Philippines.. I wonder if they will stay up for the fight after such a long flight.

“The Knock-Out King” Randall Bailey (42-7, 36KO’s) will have a chance at the vacant IBF welterweight championship in a 12 round match against undefeated contender Mike “MJ” Jones, scheduled to be the co-main event for the Pacquiao vs Bradley pay per view card on June 9th.. All I gotta say is Miiike Jooooooones!! Sorry couldn’t help it!!

Going back home to Denmark Mikkel “The Viking Warrior” Kessler(44-2, 33KO’s)will be fighting against Allan “Ghost Dog” Green(31-3, 21KO’s) I’m not very excited about this fight, but I’m sure there are many Vikings that are interested.

Luis “Orlandito” Del Valle will return to the ring on the Berto vs Ortiz undercard on June 23. We recently saw Orlandito in the ring last Friday. It’s obvious that SHOWTIME liked what they saw. Del Valle just comes off a win against Chris Martin in an exciting unanimous decision victory.

Date change for the IBF jr. middleweight title match between Cory Spinks (34-6, 11KO’s) against Cornelius “K9” Bundrage (31-14, 18KO’s). This fight will be the co-feature of SHOWTIME Championship Boxing’s main event between Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero(29-1-1, 18KO’s) and Selcuk Aydin (23-0, 17KO’s) for the silver welterweight title at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Florida on June 23.. Is it just me, or has SHOWTIME been broadcasting good fights lately. I like it SHOWTIME keep it up, maybe this will force HBO to step up it’s game.

May 5 is also set to have an epic rematch that most of you will remember easily. The rematch of Larry Merchant vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. We all remember Larry’s famous last words to Mayweather during their post fight interview after the Ortiz match. Larry told Floyd ” if I were 50 years younger I’d kick your ass!!” LA times writer Lange Pugmire asked Merchant if what he said to Mayweather that evening held any truth. Merchants response was simple “If I snuck up behind him, and he wasn’t looking, yeah I probably could have kicked his ass. Otherwise I have my doubts”. After years of watching Larry Merchant, on HBO, that evening’s line has been etched in my brain forever. Larry Merchant for President, Baby!!

In tomorrows Wire Report I promise to visit Cotto and his camp, and talk a bit on Mosley vs Alvarez. Fight Week is getting the best of me, I will stop nut hugging Mayweather and the Money Team, besides even though I’m from Queens, N.Y. I was never a 50 Cent fan.. Don’t forget tomorrow we are live on Blogtalkradio.com search for ThaBoxingVoice/Voice of the People.. 7pm. That’s it for today Wire Report thanks for stopping by.. @number2snake
