Manny PacquiaoAfter raking in over an estimated $140 million dollars, it seems like some people are trying to convince Manny Pacquiao to retire. The man behind this push is his top advisor Michael Koncz.

“To be honest with you, I already recommended that he retire,” Koncz told Spin.ph.

According to Team Pacquiao, the fighter was injured and to his advisor, that might be an indication that it’s time to leave the ring.

“When you start to have injuries especially at this magnitude, that’s an indication to me that the body is starting to wear down,” he stressed. “Does Manny still have the speed and skills? Yeah! But his injuries are starting to come. But we haven’t really sat down and talked about that. But I mentioned it: ‘Maybe it’s time to retire.’ But we’ll wait and see,” continued Koncz.

With rumors floating around that if Jessie Vargas is victorious in his fight against Timothy Bradley on June 27, he might be in line for a Pacquiao fight. That fight will take place out of the States according to reports if it happens. But Koncz says the focus is on rehabilitating the shoulder.

“Our focus right now is nothing more than the rehabilitation of his shoulder, he had surgery a few weeks ago,” stated Koncz. We want to make sure it’s a hundred percent then we’ll decide on the activity. There’s no fight this year, that’s for sure. We’re not thinking about boxing.”

But what about re-matching Mayweather as his promoter Bob Arum suggested for it to happen next year?

“Again, we’re not thinking about boxing, we did the best we could on May 2nd. Floyd Mayweather won. They raised his hand, so let him enjoy his victory. If we decide to box again, we’ll see what happens,” he said.“But we’re not asking, we’re not thinking, we’re not planning no revenge (against Mayweather)!”
