639x360_1376537925_Randy-CaballeroBP4Mayweather vs. Pacquiao has been officially announced, the enigma of the negotiations between the two fighters is finally over. The world will officially stop on May 2nd, 2015 and everyone will be watching from casual fans to hardcore’s to professional fighters.

Thaboxingvoice caught up with IBF Bantamweight champion Randy Caballero and our reporter Fernando Pimentel asked what he thought of the mega fight to come.

“That’s a fight I never thought would happen. Thank God it’s happening it’s good for the sport of boxing.”

Although Mayweather vs. Pacquiao is most anticipated, some say the fight won’t live up to expectations due to it taking place 6 or 7 years too late for some. Randy Cabellero expressed his views on the timing of the fight and his prediction.

“Maybe it might be too late both fighters might not be the same but who knows, I still think it’s going to be a great fight.” “I believe Mayweather will pull this one off I think he’s too fast too smart inside that ring, I don’t think nobody is going to beat him in the sport of boxing. I don’t know, but I expect a great fight.”

With all the complaints of this fight being past its peak, I stand firm that Mayweather-Pacquiao is happening at the right moment in boxing. The sport we love is on an all time high with all the added attention of boxing coming back to network TV. Timing is everything, and the stars have aligned to give us a fight we’ve waited for years to manifest. The wheels are spinning, and boxing is looking on the up and up.

May 2nd we will see one of the most historic boxing spectacles in our generation. Whether the actual fight turns out to live up to the hype around it, is up to the fighters. We will surely find out in the upcoming two months.
