Freddie-Roach-with-Manny-PacquiaoFreddie Roach has plans of moving Pacquiao back down to the junior welterweight division. He told Ringtv.com, “He’s never been a big puncher at 147. I don’t think he’s lost his punch or his killer instinct; he’s just been fighting bigger, stronger guys, I think the knockouts will start coming again at 140. That’s the only reason we’re going to 144 in this upcoming bout with Algieri. That was our choice not theirs.”

Roach also mentioned he likes the possibility of a matchup between Pacquiao and Danny Garcia in the near future.

A clash with Garcia is not likely to happen due to the fact Al Haymon who manages Garcia, does not do business with Bob Arum. When cancelling out all the Haymon fighters in the 140 pound division, Pacquiao is not left with too many opponents to choose from.

At the time being Pacquiao is currently focused on his upcoming bout with Algieri, which will take place on November 22 in Macau, China. He is currently in the early stages of his training camp and is not taking his opponent lightly. The eight-division world titleholder aims to continue building his legacy.
