Seanie Monaghan Dominates in NY vs NY Battle

In the fight of NY vs NY, Seanie Monaghan (23-0 with 13 KOs) of Long Beach, NY, squared off against Elvir Muriqui (40-6 with 24 KOs) of New York, NY. Monaghan controlled the 1st two rounds, battering Muriqui, in the 3rd round, he caught Muriqui with multiple solid hard rights that pushed Muriqui against the ropes and even hurt him at the end of the round to where Muriqui had to lean back against the ropes.

In the 4th round with about 2 seconds left Monaghan knocked Muriqui down with a solid overhand right. It definitely stunned Muriqui and he was lucky that the bell came right after the knockdown. Muriqui actually came out more aggressive in round 5, but Monaghan still was able to land the more solid blows. In rounds 6 through 8 the fight dominated mostly by Monaghan as this fight was one sided most of the way though the 1st 8.

In the 9th Monaghan received very bad cuts over the left and right eyes, which were never fully closed up by the time they started the 10th and final round. While bleeding badly from the cut over the left eye, Monaghan backed up most of the 10th round. However, as the final round closed, Monaghan was still the more aggressive fighter and as the fight went to the cards, Seanie Monaghan won by unanimous decision 99-90 on all 3 cards.
