Zou Shiming is now 5-0 after defeating Luis De la Rosa by unanimous decision in Macau, China at the same Venetian Resort he has competed in for every single pro bout he has fought. The HBO2 fighter competed in his first 10round fight and fought strong in every one of those 10 rounds.

It was on par for Shiming defensively, but he did show some things offensively that suggest he’s improving. His jab was very tight and he threw it well, using it in front of powerful right hands.

However, he was, like his past fights, an easy target at times. De la Rosa was able to land on Shiming in several rounds, but Shiming ate the shots and has quickly established the fact that he has a more than working chin.

The last few rounds got really heated as Shiming and De la Rosa exchanged blows in the middle of the ring. When the situation got tight Shiming moved well and reestablished his footwork and head movement.

Shiming was far ahead on the scorecards thanks to his superior boxing skills while De la Rosa was getting tagged hard with blood spewing from a cut suffered in the 5th round due to an accidental head-butt.

Shiming closed the fight strong and won the unanimous decision with the judges’ scores reading 97-93 and 99-91 twice.

In the co-feature of the HBO2 broadcast, Gilberto Ramirez (28-0) earned the TKO victory over Junior Talipeau (20-2-1) in the first round of their scheduled 10 by landing uppercuts at will.
