ONEIDA NATION HOMELANDS (March 5, 2013) Nationally-televised championship boxing returns to the Turning Stone Resort Casino Event Center with ESPN Friday Night Fights March 29, 2013.  In the 12 round main event, NABO Middleweight Champion Brian Vera (22-6-0, 13 KOs) of Austin, Texas defends his title against Donatas Bondorovas (17-3-1, 6 KOs) of Lithuania.

Vera is currently ranked by the WBO as the #1 contender in the middleweight division.  He electrified the crowd at Turning Stone in his last bout, a tenth round knockout victory over former WBO Jr. Middleweight World Champion Sergiy Dzinziruk January 25 on ESPN.  The Lithuanian-born Bondorovas now calls Chicago, Illinois home.  He has been victorious in his last five fights.

The co-feature bout on ESPN will be for the WBO Latino Light Heavyweight title, as unbeaten Jackson Junior (14-0-0, 12 KOs) of Sao Paulo, Brazil defends his title against Cuban-born Umberto Savigne (10-1-0, 7 KOs) in a 10 round affair.

Junior made his American debut at Turning Stone January 25, scoring a first round knockout victory over Dante Craig.  The 34 year-old Savigne has won his last eight bouts.  He won a gold medal for Cuba at the 1999 Pan American Games.

Promoter Greg Cohen said, “We couldn’t be more excited to be coming back to Turning Stone March 29.  Our ESPN event January 25 was a huge success, with incredible action inside the ring.  Anyone who has attended the recent televised boxing events at Turning Stone can clearly see the momentum is building rapidly. There is a huge appetite for big time boxing in Central New York and Turning Stone is delivering exactly what the public is demanding.”

Banner Promotions and Greg Cohen Promotions plan to announce the undercard at a later date.  All bouts are subject to change.

Doors open at the Turning Stone Resort Casino Event Center at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 29 with the first undercard bout starting at 7:30 p.m. The live ESPN2 telecast begins at 9 p.m.
