Nationally-televised championship boxing returns to the Turning Stone Resort Casino Event Center with ESPN Friday Night Fights January 25, 2013. In the 12 round Main Event, NABO Middleweight Champion Brian Vera (21-6-0, 12 KOs) of Austin, Texas defends his title against former WBO Jr. Middleweight World Champion Sergiy “Razor” Dzinziruk (37-1-1, 24 KOs) of Ukraine.
Vera, currently ranked #4 in the WBO Middleweight division, won the NABO title in August. Dzinziruk fought to a draw against Jonathan Gonzalez (15-0-1, 13 KOs) at Turning Stone September 1 on HBO’s “Boxing After Dark.”
The Co-feature Jr. Welterweight bout puts Tony “Lightning” Luis (15-0, 7 KOs) of Cornwall, Ontario, Canada up against Miguel “Silky Smooth” Gonzalez (20-3, 15 KOs) of Cleveland, Ohio. Luis scored a first round knockout of Andres Ledesma at Turning Stone September 1. Gonzalez suffered his first loss in 15 fights in a unanimous decision against Mike Dallas, Jr. (19-2-1, 8 KO) in February.
